I’m Charles Uffelman, and I’m running for City Council to fight for a city we can afford that works for working people.

In the fight for a better future for all Clarksvillians
On The Trail With Chas
For resurrections big and small, for all the ways Jesus shows up for everyone (especially the ones we try to judge) Happy Easter weekend my friends! 🐣 ⛪️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ #clarksville #clarksvilletn #easter
Last week I toured @nurturehousegroup, a FREE after school program that serves kids across Clarksville. Kids learn about applying for jobs, they interview for a new job every week: sweeping the floors, washing the dishes, etc. They get a pay check, can buy treats, and pay bills. They have time to do their homework. They elect a leader every month who then interviews them for their jobs.
I was blown away to find out it’s an all volunteer program. Our kids need more support than ever, and we are lucky to have programs like Nurture House. Our city should be leaning in on these programs and ensuring they have the resources to serve as many kids as possible. If you want to help, one way is to buy a ticket to their fundraiser on April 25th. I’ll put a link up in my story.
When you have a line dancing pro, @ellie_crain, in your circle you gotta take them the City’s Boots, Beats & Bites hosted by @clarksvilleparksrec. They do a great job with this event: good music, good food by @legendssmokehouseandgrill, and a western store set up by @frenchsbootsclarksville.
Don’t tell me there’s nothing to do in #clarksville! #clarksvilletn #localgovernment
The years are rhyming today. Mom (@rvfreeman) and I took my nieces and nephew to @customshousemuseum like she took me 20-30 years ago. The bubble room is still super cool.
It was very cool to see my late cousin Suzanne Uffelman’s name on the county commission voting board that I assume was taken down after tornado/courthouse rebuilding or later.
Don’t let anyone tell you there’s nothing to do in Clarksville! We have a lot to be proud of.
Lincoln Homes was popping this weekend at the community hunt. Thank you to Queens and Kings for the Betterment of our Community and Monique for putting this on.
As a city, our collective heart is still breaking for Kenwood. At yesterday’s vigil we heard from parents, students, and some of our leaders. Jessica Davis is asking friends of her daughter to send any pictures and videos of fond memories they have to her. DM me and I can connect you. This will be a long road of emotional and physical healing. I’ll continue sharing ways to support these families.

My statement. Praying for the Kenwood community tonight.
Happy Women’s History Month! Wilma Rudolph bravely fought to change Clarksville for the better by challenging segregation head on. We need more leaders like her willing to stand with activists and take risks to make life better for everyone in our city. #womenshistorymonth #clarksvilletn #clarksville #progressive #wilmarudolph
Clarksville had a population of 75,494 in 1990. In my lifetime the city has over doubled in size.
As an “Erin boy” St. Patrick’s Day is a month long celebration. It’s a source of community and should be a moment of solidarity with working people who have fought for a fairer world and stood up against the injustices of colonialism and economic exploitation. It’s a kinship that connects us for a better future for everyone. So this week, and this month I’ve got a big smile on my face when I say “Erin Go Braugh!” Maybe I’ll see you at #IrishDay in #ErinTN #irish #stpatrick #clarksvilletn
This is one of those days where we will get all four seasons. Unfortunately that means strong winds already moving in. We have a moderate tornado risk followed by a 41% chance of a dusting of snow.
There could be power outages, check the @cdelightband website to report those and get updates. With all this weather make sure you have a plan for wind damage, power outages, and extreme cold.
We are in the news! Thank you @clarksvillelivingmagazine for covering our campaign launch party. If you see a copy around town pick it up and check us out on page 44.
